For a while it appeared like Ariane Lipski vs. Priscila Cachoeira wasn’t going to happen. However, the fight has been moved to this weekend’s UFC Fight Night card in San Diego due to Lipski missing weight by 2.5lbs on the official weigh-in scales.
The former KSW star will luckily still be able to compete against Cachoeira, this time on the undercard at UFC Fight Night: Vera vs. Cruz. Her opponent, a fellow Brazilian, is a few years older and currently 11-4 in professional MMA, winning three of her last five MMA bouts.
Her bout against Cachoeira will be within the women’s bantamweight division, meaning ‘Queen of Violence’ will have to put on weight in order to compete. But given her recent weight-miss, this shouldn’t be an issue and might prompt a permanent move into the heavier division.
Ariane Lipski: Recent UFC form
This joining the UFC back in 2019, the 28-year-old has struggled to consistently win within the women’s flyweight division. She started her UFC in the worst way possible, losing her first two bouts within the organization.
Both Joanne Wood and Molly McCann managed to beat Ariane Lipski via decision, which forced Lipski to pick up her form. ‘Queen of violence’ eventually got back to winning ways, beating Isabela de Pádua and Luana Carolina in back-to-back bouts to take her UFC record to 2-2.
In her last three bouts, Lipski has once again struggled, losing two out of her last three fights and also struggling to make weight for her upcoming fight this weekend. Antonina Shevchenko and Montana De La Rosa both finished the Brazilian in round two via ground and pound.
In her most recent outing, Ariane Lipski managed to get the better of Mandy Böhm, beating the flyweight via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Spann.
